Hibiscus Artisanal Infusions

 

Craft your own natural hibiscus beverages.  All recipes can be scaled up or down.  Add more or less ingredients depending upon your tastes.  Try other ingredients to create your own hot and cold beverages.  For cold beverages drink fresh within 2-3 days. Simple Hibiscus Infusion Essence

 

2  cups spring water

1  teaspoon hibiscus

1  teaspoon preferred sugar or

1  teaspoon light white honey

 

{1} Pour water into pot and bring to boil {2} Turn down heat to a light simmer and add hibiscus {3} Keep at a light simmer for 10 minutes and then turn off heat {4} Add sugar or honey {5} Strain into cups or teapot and serve hot {6} Or strain, let cool, refrigerate and serve as a cold beverage

 

 

Hibiscus Cinnamon & Lime Infusion

 

2  cups spring water

2  teaspoons hibiscus

half stick ceylon cinnamon freshly crumbled

2 teaspoons freshly squeezed and strained lime juice

4  teaspoons preferred sugar or

4  teaspoons light white honey

 

{1} Pour water into pot and bring to boil {2} Add cinnamon to boiling water {3} Turn down heat to a light simmer and add hibiscus {4} Keep at a light simmer for 10 minutes and then turn off heat {5} Add lime juice, sugar or honey {6} Strain into cups or teapot and serve hot {7} Or strain, let cool, refrigerate and serve as a cold beverage

 

 

Hibiscus Spiced Agua de Jamaica Infusion

 

2  cups spring water

2  teaspoons hibiscus

half stick ceylon cinnamon freshly crumbled

2 whole cloves freshly crushed

1 inch freshly sliced ginger root

1 teaspoons freshly squeezed and strained lemon juice

4  teaspoons preferred sugar or

4  teaspoons light white honey

 

{1} Pour water into pot and bring to boil {2} Add cinnamon, cloves and ginger root to boiling water {3} Turn down heat to a light simmer and add hibiscus {4} Keep at a light simmer for 10 minutes and then turn off heat {5} Add lemon juice, sugar or honey {6} Strain into cups or teapot and serve hot {7} Or strain, let cool, refrigerate and serve as a cold beverage

 

 

Hibiscus Tropical Punch Infusion

 

2  cups spring water

2  teaspoons hibiscus

quarter of an apple sliced

half cup sliced pineapple

4 teaspoons freshly squeezed and strained orange juice

3  teaspoons preferred sugar or

3  teaspoons light white honey

 

{1} Pour water into pot and bring to boil {2} Turn down heat to a light simmer and add hibiscus {3} Keep at a light simmer for 10 minutes and then turn off heat {4} Strain hibiscus and add apples, pineapples, orange juice, sugar or honey {5} Let cool, refrigerate for 4 hours, strain fruit and serve as a cold beverage {6} Strained fruit can be served separately as a fruit cocktail

 

 

Hibiscus Lemonade Infusion

 

2  cups spring water

2  teaspoons hibiscus

3 teaspoons freshly squeezed and strained lemon juice

4  teaspoons preferred sugar or

4  teaspoons light white honey

 

{1} Pour water into pot and bring to boil {2} Turn down heat to a light simmer and add hibiscus {3} Keep at a light simmer for 10 minutes and then turn off heat {4} Add lemon juice, sugar or honey {5} Strain into cups or teapot and serve hot {6} Or strain, let cool, refrigerate and serve as a cold beverage

Hibiscus Simple Syrup

• One part water

• One part sugar

• 1/4 part hibiscus

1. Combine water and sugar in a saucepan.

2. Bring to a boil while mixing to keep crystals from forming

3. Add hibiscus and stir for one minute

4. Remove from heat source and let sit for thirty minutes

5. Strain syrup into a container and remove all hibiscus flowers

Hibiscus Seltzer

• Hibiscus Syrup

• Seltzer water

 

1. Fill a cup with 12 ounces of seltzer water

2. Add one ounce of hibiscus syrup

3. Stir and enjoy!
